Two Part Series: The Role of Jews in the US Military
March 9: Part I: GI Jews in the US Military from the Revolution through the Civil War Up to and including World War I
March 23: Part II: World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Cold War, and the Terrorism Wars of the 21st Century. These presentations will explore the role of Jews in the military, the relationship of the US Military to the Jewish community, and some of the implications of that interaction as it has evolved over the past 250 years. Ample time will be given for questions and discussion.
David Mallach is currently serving as Chair of the Society for Advancement of Education, Jerusalem. He has been a leader in the American Jewish community for over 40 years, most recently as executive vice-chairman of the United Israel Appeal, part of the Jewish Federations of North America. David was managing director of the Commission on Jewish People at UJA-Federation of New York, and spent 17 years in community relations and leadership positions with the United Jewish Communities of Metro West New Jersey.
